In the twenty years of its existence SFR has been
active in the field of relational data base systems. This means above
all the creation of data structures as well as data administration and
visualization. Normally we use different Windows-systems as environments.
Back ends are SQL-Servers (Oracle, Microsoft, MySQL) as well as common
relational formats (Access, Xbase, ...). By agreement the projects may
be realized in different languages, e.g. in C/C++, Basic, Delphi
(Pascal), or Java. Just a few examples of our projects:
- User interface and control software for ticket vending machines
with touch screen technology (C++, Visual Basic, Access).
- Module for the configuration and operation of a protection and
control device for high voltage DC feed-in as well as
visualization and statistical analysis of all incoming data
(Delphi, Visual Basic, proprietary data formats).
- Different security solutions for Windows, Windows Mobile 2003
and PalmOS based on SFR's
visual Key technology:
and the encryption system Twofish (embedded C++, Delphi, Java,
proprietary data formats).
- Web solution for dynamic generation of a multiple language
online product catalog with easy navigation functionality
based on our cat4
technology (PHP, MySQL).
- Production optimization solution with inferface to ERP and PPS
using encrypted data transfer (SSL) and TCP communication
based on our software framework
SFR
Building Blocks (Delphi, PHP, Oracle).

The majority of our customers are system manufacturers who combine
software with proprietary hardware. SFR offers these
customers the possibility to supplement their own know-how and the
option to disburden their own team through outsourcing. The number of
classical end customers for whom individual solutions are realized is
slightly smaller.

SFR GmbH was incorporated in 1988. One of the founders
and today's CEO is Winfried Schöttler. The formation was basically due to a product idea: dBü.
dBü (DatenBank-Übersetzer = Data Base Translator)
became a marketable product within two years. It is a tool which can
translate programmes written in different Xbase dialects into the
computer language C. Apart from the translator an expansive library with
access routines for Xbase data tables and functions for display and input
of data was developed.
Due to SFR's profound data base know-how there were
from the beginning project inquiries and orders for individual programmes
in addition to the product business. During the last years the project
business was continually expanded. Today, the major part of
SFR's turnover is earned in this segment.
Since February, 1997 SFR
resides in a restored and adapted kiln house in the Hospeltstraße in Cologne, Germany.
Here our team of developers works in different projects at individual
solutions for our customers.
