All data sets can be stored according to your own systematics. This is where cat4 comes in: it allows the allocation of multiple criteria, thus forming dynamical hierarchies - the possibilities to search your catalog are as manifold as your products!   Catalog Design The design of the catalog conforms to your wishes. cat4 has no given specifications you have to abide by. Since there is no prefab layout, you may use your own corporate design. The user interface, usually your catalog pages on the internet, is generated in HTML. You can specify the form, layout and functions of your pages. All these specifications will be determined in templates. Data base and templates are linked in a way that allows direct access to the data base via the user interface. cat4 is integrated seamlessly in your homepage. The catalog may be established multilingual for international web presence.   Publication cat4 is open for all output formats for which the necessary design templates are available. Thus cat4 is flexible and open for new catalog formats and future developments in HTML oder XML. The standard output is realized in HTML. The generated catalog may be placed at your customers' disposal online or offline. You publish your data on the internet: This makes your product range available around the clock and to every internet user. If you want to restrict your offer it is possible to protect the catalog and make it accessible only with a password. Thus only certified users have access to your product data. You send the catalog on CD-ROM or DVD-ROM on your customers' requests.
